Integration – Amazon

Overview

VNTANA has made it easy to publish your optimized 3D models directly to Amazon for enhanced customer experiences. 3D models published to Amazon will appear in the Amazon mobile app as:

  • View in 3D

  • View in Your Room

  • Virtual Try-on

We’ll walk through how to integrate your VNTANA and Amazon account and publish your optimized 3D assets to Amazon.

Let’s get started!

Connecting VNTANA to Amazon

You can connect up to three Amazon regions to your VNTANA account in just a few clicks. Below is the process (these steps can only be performed by an Organization Admin or higher).

  1. Open your VNTANA account Settings.

  2. Toggle to the Integrations tab.

  3. Click the Add App button.

  4. Complete the Amazon Integration form by:

    1. Select the Amazon account type.

    2. Select the Amazon Region you would like to connect.

    3. Select an Amazon Store to publish to.

  5. You will then be redirected to Amazon where you will need to log in and authorize VNTANA to connect to Amazon.

  6. You will then be redirected back to VNTANA.

  7. Finally, select the Marketplaces/ Stores you would like to publish your optimized 3D assets to.

 

Repeat these steps for the other Amazon Regions you would like to connect to VNTANA.

Publishing an individual optimized 3D asset to Amazon

You can publish assets individually to Amazon while on an asset page with just a few clicks! Be sure the product ASIN is readily available as you’ll need to add that as an attribute before publishing. You also want to be sure the 3D Dimensions have been generated. Workspace Admins and above can publish assets to Amazon and Content Managers can add ASINs and generate 3D dimensions.

Please review the Amazon 3D requirements prior to publishing. Specific requirements are available for Eyewear as well. 

  • Model is in real-world scale.

  • UVs must all be within one UV space, meaning placed in the main coordinate space (0,1), and do not overlap.

  • Supported gltf ratified extensions:

    • KHR_draco_mesh_compression

    • KHR_materials_clearcoat

    • KHR_materials_emissive_strength

    • KHR_materials_ior

    • KHR_materials_sheen

    • KHR_materials_transmission

    • KHR_materials_volume

    • KHR_texture_basisu

    • KHR_texture_transform

    • KHR_xmp_json_ld

  • Glass, thick plastic, and acrylic materials must use KHR_materials_transmission with the below settings:

    • Roughness: 0 or 1
    • Transmission: Between 0 – 1.
    • Alpha Mode: Opaque.

  • Assets with fur are not accepted due to limitations with rendering fur in real-time.

  • All models are aligned to floor, wall, or ceiling.

  • Footwear Orientation: Must be oriented so the toe is facing forward.

  • Clo Assets: Assets built in Clo require an edit to the Fabric, Topstitching, Trims, Graphics, etc. before exporting.

    • Adjust the Reflection intensity on all components (fabrics, topstitching, trims, graphics, etc.) in Clo to 100 (max value).

    • This will ensure an unsupported gltf extension is not exported.

We recommend using the below optimization settings to meet Amazon’s 3D Requirements:

  • Polygon Limit: 75,000 (200,000 maximum)

  • Draco Compression: On

  • Texture Resolution: 2K (4K maximum)

  • Texture Compression: 3

  • Pivot-Point: usually Bottom-Center but dependent on the specific asset. Reference Amazon’s 3D requirements to find the correct pivot point.

 

Let’s walk through the steps.

Preparing the asset for publishing

These steps assume the 3D asset was built meeting Amazon’s 3D requirements (linked above).

  1. Open an asset page and toggle to the Amazon tab.

  2. Open the 3D Dimensions menu and click the Generate 3D Dimensions button if the measurements are not already listed.

  3. Open the Store Attributes and Status menu, then add the product ASIN for the selected store.

    1. ASINs can be added in bulk via the VNTANA Metadata app or the VNTANA API.

  4. Click Save.

Publishing the asset to Amazon

Once the asset includes the 3D dimensions and ASIN, you can publish it to Amazon.

  1. While on the asset page, click the Integrations button to the left of the Change State button.

  2. Select Publish to Amazon from the Integrations menu.

  3. A pop-up will open asking which store the asset should be published to. Select the appropriate stores to publish the asset to then click the Publish button.

 

Your asset will be published to Amazon where it will go through Amazon’s QA process. As the asset progresses through the Amazon QA process, a status will be shown within the Store Attributes and Status menu of the Amazon tab. An overview of the status’ are below:

  • In process → the asset is being uploaded or reviewed by Amazon.

    • Amazon will review the 3D against the existing product images available for the product.

  • Complete → the asset has been reviewed by Amazon and will go live in the Amazon app within 1 or 2 days of this status change.

  • Rejected → the Amazon process has found a discrepancy in the 3D model and rejected it. A report will be available within the Store Attributes and Status menu explaining the rejection.

    • If an asset is rejected, review the report, update the 3D asset and re-upload to VNTANA, then republish it to Amazon.

    • If you have any questions about the asset status, contact your Amazon representation for more support.

Bulk publishing optimized 3D assets to Amazon

You can publish assets in bulk to Amazon.

  1. Select the assets you would like to publish to Amazon from the Asset Library List.

  2. Within the bulk actions toolbar, click the Integrations button (to the left of the Change State button).

  3. Select Publish to Amazon from the Integrations menu.

  4. A pop-up will open asking which store the assets should be published to. Select the appropriate stores for the selected assets, then click the Publish button.

Once assets are published to Amazon, you will see an Amazon column within the Asset Library List. This column will show the Amazon status of the asset.

FAQs

  1. Can I add ASINs in bulk to existing assets in VNTANA?

    1. Yes! We have two methods to add ASINs in bulk to existing ASINs in VNTANA.

      1. Option 1: You can use the VNTANA Metadata App (must include the Upload Amazon Metadata option) to add ASINs in bulk to existing assets. The assetUuid, integrationType, and integrationAsin is required for this bulk update.

      2. Option 2: You can use the VNTANA API and a CSV to add ASINs in bulk to existing assets. The assetUuid, integrationType, and integrationAsin is required for this bulk update.

  2. Can I generate a report of assets published to Amazon and their status?

    1. Yes! You can generate a report of the assets published to Amazon and their status via the VNTANA Metadata App or the VNTANA API.

  3. Can I bulk generate the 3D Dimensions via a bulk edit in VNTANA or the VNTANA API?

    1. 3D Dimension generation is only automated when adding ASINs in bulk via the VNTANA Metadata App or the VNTANA API.

    2. 3D Dimensions will be generated automatically when uploading new assets starting mid-Q3 2024.

  4. Can I bulk publish assets to Amazon via the VNTANA API?

    1. Yes, you can bulk publish assets to Amazon via the VNTANA API.

  5. Can I filter the Asset Library list to show only assets published to Amazon?

    1. Yes! If the Amazon integration is enabled for the Organization, an Amazon section will be available within the Asset Library filters and search panel. Filter by the following statuses:

      • Completed
      • In Process
      • Rejected
      • Failed

  6. Can I bulk edit the orientation of my assets to meet the Amazon requirements?

    1. Yes! Use the Scene Rotation settings within the Bulk Editor to rotate a selection of assets to meet Amazon’s requirements.
